Someone at work today posted on the intranet forum that they had left their phone adapter in Inverness and wanted to loan one for a while just to fill up with some juice. He would have been better off in China. For all that we criticise China for its pollution and waste they are, at least, taking action on one of the biggest forms of electronic waste: mobile phone adapters.
I reported in December that plans were afoot to standardise mobile phone adapters in China, but I didn't expect this: they've made the adaptors USB-only. Isn't that great? It's the most universal adapter around these days and if China starts to manufacture USB-only phones for export I'll be more than happy to keep juiced up that way and reduce one more part of my annual waste. Hurrah!
