While at Reboot 9 in early June I was really pleased to be able to meet one of my fave edubloggers residing in Denmark, Anne Fox, who coproduces the excellent Absolutely Intercultural podcast.
While sitting on the lawn outside the Reboot venue she collared me for an interview about some of my experiences in the French education system, something I've never really blogged or spoken about much before but which, on reflection, has helped inform quite a lot of my more subversive behaviours, particularly the application of formative assessment in the French Higher Ed system. You can listen to the short recording now.
I'm interviewed alongside Delphine Menier, one of my new best friends who works as one of the few paid up operatives in Wikimedia. She's got lots of interesting background to Wikimedia and Wikipedia; I'm hoping that we can work on a project together for Scottish education which continues some interesting wiki work started throughout the country.
On a little geeky aside, I'm impressed to no end with the quality of recording, given that whatever she was using was a tiny device and that we were outside in a noisy, enthusiastic Web 2.0 crowd (with a few beers being sunk not too far away). What was the recorder? Answers on a postcard (or in the comments below, Anne).

I grew up in Central Massachusetts. Enjoy your trip to Boston; it's a fun city. I recommend visiting the restaurants in the North End, specifically Giacomo's, and for dessert, Mike's Pastries.

It is an Edirol R09 by Roland which I tracked down to Dolphin Music http://www.dolphinmusic.co.uk/ The podcast is largely a voluntary affair with only the odd show supported by some project or other so I normally go for the free options whenever I can but recorded sound on my laptop and mp3 player was awful so I was desperate for a solution. This is not a cheap option as it cost me over £300 but I see it now priced at £250 (Grr! but still not cheap). It looks like a shaver and my German colleagues had to use a dummy stereotype mike instead when they were interviewed for local TV about the podcast! And by the way another episode just came out which this time is less about inter-cultural matters and more about podcasting in edication and Second Life.
