Keep your eyes peeled for this man, Friday morning, on various BBC programmes, starting with Breakfast,Radio Five Live and onto BBC Scotland.
Update: Some video of his appearances is now online.
Derek Robertson is m'colleague who founded the Consolarium, The Scottish Centre for Games and Learning, in Learning and Teaching Scotland, Dundee, last year and he'll be explaining why schools around Scotland are playing Nintendo Wiis, DSes and Sony PSPs to learn better than they have done before.
Gaming in education has been around for years but, until recently, has failed to take hold in quite the way we're seeing in Scottish schools. A combination of superb action research, short-term projects and enthusiasm on a scale few non-Dundonians have ever seen, Derek has been the central inspiration behind this. I'm proud to count him as a colleague in our very small new technologies team, and as a co-karaoke superstar on those nights of 'professional bonding' that have been so viral vital.

I heard the interview on fivelive this morning (before I read this) and it came across really well - they devoted a fair bit of time to the interview and Derek pitched it perfectly (unlike his fellow interviewee). It was nice to hear a positive story about technology in education for a change.
