"Fighting between Millwall and West Ham football fans was planned weeks before the match, the BBC understands.
"A Millwall supporter who organised some of the violence said rival fans arranged to meet via mobile phones."
The same situation within a school: what would the school do?
How about the radical idea of teaching people to use technology responsibly, instead of banning it? It's not going to go away, although I'm no fan of mobile phones myself. Society needs to evolve some appropriate use rules, and that won't happen if places just ban the phones. People will use them anyway, they WILL. They do. But social rules are harder to shake off, in many ways, than laws are.

I agree with the above statement. Cell phones are going to be around for a very long, long time and we mine as well learn how to use them usfully rather than take them away completly.
