You turn on the TV, and and see all these shows about getting wasted and these people are becoming rich and famous. In reality, that's not what happens, and people flunk out of school, have to get low paying jobs, and the economy will just end up getting worse.
Steve commented on 'Scottish Parliament Elections 2011: Is the SNP the only party with an education vision?'tag:typepad.com,2003:6a00d83451f00f69e2014e5fbe4a55970c2011-03-09T12:21:56Z2011-03-09T12:21:56ZStevehttp://www.vitaminsforlife.co.ukI agree that if there is no discipline there is no learning but imposing discipline in school must be guided...
I agree that if there is no discipline there is no learning but imposing discipline in school must be guided by rules and regulations.Educating teachers to be more competent isgreat. This is not only for the school children but for the country in general.
Bill Boyd commented on 'Scottish Parliament Elections 2011: Is the SNP the only party with an education vision?'tag:typepad.com,2003:6a00d83451f00f69e2014e86943c45970d2011-03-08T16:44:20Z2011-03-08T16:44:20ZBill Boydhttp://www.theliteracyadviser.co.ukI think that sums it up rather nicely Ewan, and I'm sure a lot of colleagues in England and in...
I think that sums it up rather nicely Ewan, and I'm sure a lot of colleagues in England and in the US would be only too happy (or unhappy) to agree. Notions of 'rigour' or 'tackling indiscipline' are political speak for 'I don't really understand the complex relationship between teachers, pupils and learning, so I'll just go for the 'tough on crime' approach. I look forward to any responses which may be forthcoming from representatives of the other parties.
